If you follow me on instagram.com/emilyburgoyne1, you will know how much I LOVE my flowers. I never used to buy flowers for myself, was never bought any from anyone except my daddy, but now i'm always buying them. My husband (now 3 weeks married!!) always buys me flowers and is the sweetest and kindest man in the world, and more importantly he knows what I DONT like. My favourite places to put flowers at home are on the dining table or in the fireplace and in Emma Bridgewater mugs and pretty cut glass or Bristol Blue vases x

Scilly Flowers haha but really scillyflowers.co.uk ; a present from my mum all the way from the Scilly Isles, which  on a seperate topic are must-visit islands off Cornwall, palm trees, islands you can walk around, no cars, sunny warm weather.

The White Company candles, treating myself over Christmas but worth the money as they really do smell amazing

A beautiful sunny day spent wandering around the Blumenfeld Photography Exhibition at the Courtauld in Somerset House which I decided to go to after watching a fantastic BBC4 programme all about his life. You weren't allowed to take photos which was annoying but the exhibition is huge and there was hardly anyone there - highly recommend going. www.somersethouse.org.uk/visual-arts/blumenfeld-studio . Cystic Fibrosis

2 weeks ago my son was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. It was devastating. The 2 week window after the heel-prick blood test results had passed, so I was feeling happy we had 'no news was good news'  when the health visitor called up and requested my husband and I be around in the morning as people from the lab wanted to talk to us. "they prefer to speak to both parents". I kind of knew there was going to be unexpected news. The health visitor and a nurse arrived at our flat, sat us down and quickly told us that he had high levels of something from the heel prick test and wanted us to come in and talk to the doctors. It felt like a concrete slab had been whacked in our faces and we were both distraught both during their visit and after. They had made us an appointment and a few hours later we went off to the Royal Marsden Hospital for Henry to have a sweat test done to definitely confirm he had the illness. How are you coping with isolation? How are you coping with the threat of illness? How are you coping as a single-parent. My son is 'very high risk' due to Cystic Fibrosis and I have found it challenging to narrow down what this means to us while also nervous to write honestly about this time. Initially I was in blind panic mode. Nobody seemed to be taking this seriously, some children were taken out of school, others weren't, stockpiling was happening, antibac wipes/gel/spray prices skyrocketed, marathons were going ahead while others were closed down. I decided early on to take my son out of school a week before they closed. His condition means his lungs would be seriously affected by any respiratory infection, but the advice from the NHS was to bring him into clinic and continue life as usual. Instead, I kept us at home. I had to work from home. I worked from 5am-7am while he had breakfast and played, we spent the day inside with a trip out for exercise and to get fo
